What’s the age limit for sex?

In a lot of countries the lower age limit for sex (also known as the ‘age of consent’) is 16, but this does vary from country to country. In some countries it is 18. We recommend you search the internet for the age limit in your country. This law is in place to protect children and youths from sexual assault by adults. It also protects children and youths from having sex before they are ready for it, both physically and psychologically. Having sex with someone is a very intimate act, and you become vulnerable in relation to the other person.
